Accounting I

This course is designed to develop a knowledge and skill of the bookkeeping cycle of a sole proprietorship and a partnership.  This course is recommended for students going on to post-secondary accounting training.  The spreadsheet program Microsoft Excel is used in the instruction.  Recommended grade level is 10 and 11.  No prerequisites.  Evaluation:  Office simulation for the monthly accounting cycle of a partnership

The grading for each 10 weeks is as follows:  (Note some changes may be made depending on course study).

The final Project/Exam will be a simulation to see if you can apply what you have learned all year to a real life situation.  This project takes about 4 weeks to complete

 It is recommended that all work done on paper be done in pencil.  While learning new concepts, errors are frequently made and are easily corrected when using pencil.

 A folder is available to you in the black box at the back of the room.  You may use it use it to hold your papers for 10 weeks at a time.
