Mrs. Palmer's Web Page
Dear Third Grade Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. I am just putting together this website for third grade. I will keep the pictures up from my fifth grade web page and add other pictures from this year's third grade.
Please check out the homework page for your child's homework. I will endeavor to keep this up each week.
Thank you for the honor of having your child in my class. We will work diligently to improve reading and math skills this year. Please continue to read and practice math facts at home with your child.
Please e-mail me if you have any questions.

Dear Parents,
I am writing to you to request that you spend some time helping your child memorize the multiplication facts. I have sent one note home with a multiplication chart attached. I am sending home a second one today. Please make or purchase flash cards. I have been stressing memorization of addition, subtraction and now multiplication. It is essential that your child know these facts in a flash! Just like you and I had to know them, so do your children. Please do practice each night at least 10-15 minutes.
Each child has a novel that he/she has chosen to read. They are to write a “log in” for every chapter. There is a copy of this in your child’s reading notebook. They are to write the beginning phrase of each comment and complete it with their thoughts about the chapter including predictions.
Regarding questions in relation to field trips, this year’s third grade class will not be going to the Bronx Zoo or any other field trips; this is due to the budgetary constraints. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mr. Jones, for more information.
Thank you for your attention to these matters. If you would like a conference at any time, please let me know.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Palmer
