ESL Teacher Resources

What is the Casa Notes Tool: Casa Notes is designed to allow teachers to quickly make, and customize, typical notes that are sent home to parents or given to the students. This is done by using templates and allowing the teachers to customize some of the content, choose a color scheme and add a graphic. The notes can then be printed on a black-and-white or color printer to be used. Teachers can select whether the notes should be in English or in Spanish.

Sight Words -
Sierra Vista Software has added a series of free Sight Words exercises to its Web site. The new animated online exercises have been designed to help children master sight words, which are some of the most frequently used words in the English language (comprising about 50-70 percent of general, non-technical reading material). The exercises have been divided into several groups according to target grades: Pre-Primer, Primer, First Grade, Second Grade, and Third Grade. When an exercise starts, the student will hear one of the sight words. The student's task is then to assemble, by using a mouse, the word from the letters provided. After the student provides the correct answer, the game will move to the next word.
