Welcome to the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk National Honor Society website.
The National Honor Society is the front-runner of organizations and
societies that promote recognition for students who reflect outstanding
accomplishments in the areas of academics, character, leadership, and service.
Membership in the National Honor Society is both an honor and a responsibility.
To be eligible for membership in the National Honor Society, students must have a cumulative grade point average above 90%. A five-member faculty council then screens eligible members of the sophomore, junior, and senior classes. Final selection is based upon Leadership, Character, and Service.
Leadership is based on the student’s participation in school and community
activities or election to an office. Students satisfy the Service requirement
by performing “community service” in the school and local community. Character
is measured in terms of integrity, behavior, ethics, and cooperation with
faculty and other students.
